Over the past few years Brooklyn Center Cinema has offered some of the great classic films from our motion picture heritage. We are justly proud to have been able to bring to the screen films that are rarely screened in a facility as magnificent as our Walt Whitman Theatre -- truly one of the only cinemas in Brooklyn styled after those grand single screen beauties that were common in the borough during the golden age of the movie palace.
Many of these classic were screened with rare archival prints or newly struck prints in mint or near mint condition (WEST SIDE STORY, THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS and 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY were such new, mint, gorgeous prints). In every case we strive to get the best elements so our patrons see these greats the way they would have when the films first reeled though the projectors when they were first released. Some of the CinEvent titles were shown for the first time in many years, some even for decades. The Sneak Previews, of course, were shown before they opened in the commercial theatres.
Here is a listing of some of the really special CinEvents that graced our screen over the years. We post them in this section for those who may have been in our audience and would like to review some of the information that we always post about the films. They are listed here by title, but you can also lick through them at the bottom of each page or return here to select others; you may also click HOME and go back to the main Cinema site.
